Cycling & Hiking on Corfu
From Agios Ioannis, there is a wide range of cycling and hiking routes available. You can cycle to the previously mentioned beaches of Ermones and Glyfada, visit the beautiful capital, Kerkyra, or go on loop rides from 15 to 75 km through the hilly surroundings. In summer, it can get very hot, and we do not recommend long bike rides. While it’s a dry heat, cycling in summer isn’t ideal. Enthusiastic cyclists rise early and are on their bikes around 8 AM, aiming to find a beach by 11 AM and cycling back only after 6 PM. A ride to the highest mountain of Corfu, Pantokrator, is magnificent if you leave at 6 in the morning. We also offer the best tips for fun hiking routes on the island, which are easily accessible by car. These include Old Perithia, Chlomos, and hiking routes near Agios Ioannis.

Balkan Coastal Route
In recent years, mainly cyclists from the Balkan Coastal Route have been coming to us for assistance with flying home with a bike box. But our service is also perfect for other cycling routes in Greece.
This service started in 1986 and marked the beginning of various cycling holidays with Cycletours and SNP, and Agios Ioannis as the cycling village of Corfu. Over the years, hundreds of cyclists have passed by. Individual trips, group trips, stationary trips, parents with children, etc., thanks in part to the excellent route books and guidance from Bertus Legebeke. With the rise of budget flights to almost every destination, cycling holidays in Corfu have been overtaken by a new generation of travelers, but we still have a loyal group of repeat customers through word-of-mouth.
We assist you during your cycling trip in Corfu with our Flying Bike Service. We provide storage or a new bike box, help with transport on arrival and departure, and offer overnight stays in Agios Ioannis, a quiet village located in the middle of the island. We recommend two overnight stays to start or end your trip stress-free. Stormy winds can cancel boats, there are often very early flights, and packing or unpacking a bike takes time.
TRANSFER:
E-bike transport to and from Greece. Since batteries cannot be transported by plane, standard transport via courier or airline is not possible. Usually, in spring and autumn, there is a freight carrier in Corfu who can transport the batteries or e-bikes. Available upon request.
This service is for cyclists with very special holiday bikes. If you have a good standard bike, a good Giant hybrid bike, or e-bikes are also available for rent on-site. These bikes can be taken off the island for various tours in Greece.
Because we used to have several group trips in Greece from Corfu, we have some tips for Greece routes – Epirus-Macedonia loop. The base route was: Corfu – Lia, Konitsa, Pendafolon, Kastoria (Prespa Lake), Grevena, Kalambaka (Meteora monasteries), Metsovo, Ioannina, Corfu.
Ionian Islands – night ferry to Patras – from Patras to Zakynthos, Kefalonia, Lefkas, and back to Corfu via Igoumenitsa.
For Corfu, there is a good cycling travel guide by Bertus Legebeke. http://www.bike-hike.nl/fietsgids.htm as well as guides for the Balkan Coastal Route and Cycling Route through Greece (both from Benjamins Publishing).
