Restaurants
You can almost always have a warm lunch. At the beach, you can ask about the catch of the day, and the waiter will often take you to the kitchen to show it. Note: Many tavernas in town are closed on Sundays, but not at the beaches. In the city, it’s recommended to make reservations during high season.
- Tsipouradiko in Corfu Town: A traditional Greek taverna serving small dishes. Affordable, high-quality food popular with locals and tourists. If full, there are similar Tsipouradikos nearby
- La Famiglia in Corfu Town: An Italian restaurant located in a narrow, almost hidden alley. It has Dutch pricing, but the food quality makes it worthwhile
- Ladokolla in Temploni: Located on a small village square, this restaurant serves large portions of meat in parchment paper (ladokolla). A great option for vegetarians too. Reservations recommended as it fills up quickly
- Alexandros in Pelekas: Famous for its pizza baked in a stone oven, but also offers excellent Greek food. Request a table on the terrace for a beautiful sea view and sunset
