Beaches
- Glyfada: A nice sandy beach easily reachable from Agios Ioannis. It’s touristy in the summer, but walk to the right toward the rocks at the end of the beach for a quieter spot.
- Ermones: A peaceful pebble beach with one restaurant and sunbed rentals.
- Kontogialos (Pelekas Beach): A beautiful sandy beach popular with Greeks on weekends. The road down from the mountain village offers stunning views but is steep. Follow the 'Naftis' signs for the beach taverna with parking.
- Barbati: A pebble beach with clear waters and a great view of the Albanian mountains and mainland Greece. Rent a sunbed at a trendy beach bar or walk right for a quieter area.
- Paleokastritsa: A small sandy beach popular for snorkeling. From here, join an organized boat trip or rent a motorboat to visit secluded bays. A monastery on top of the hill is worth a visit.
- Arillas: A resort town in the northwest with a long sandy beach and lively promenade with good restaurants. The sea is cooler and wilder here compared to other beaches.
- Sidari: Known for Canal d’Amour, a narrow sea channel between two high sandstone cliffs.
- Gardenos Beach: A quiet, secluded sandy beach in the south with two tavernas serving fresh fish. Combine with a visit to the ghost village of Chlomos for some local charm.
- Porto Timoni: A walk (20 minutes from the parking lot) or sea access leads to two bays separated by a narrow dune. It’s a great spot for snorkeling and diving due to the clear waters.
